A list of rough translations provided by the Mindspike of the Obesk language and what they mean, aswell as a list of some Obesk colloquialisms.

Time

• Eye - A year on Obeski, roughly 2.33 Earth years

• Radiant - Presumably analogue to a season or month, or other sub-division of a year

• Gaze - Roughly analogue to a day

• Wink - Roughly analogue to 1-3 hours

Colloquialisms

• A cloud passing underneath the eye - Total darkness

• A glow between the veilk-stalks - A hidden treasure, referring to the celki which often grow on veilk

• Beneath the receptors of - - "In comparison to" or "with respect to"

• Bright Cousins - A nickname given to humans for their conquest of the Earth.

• Cousinly eyes - Eyes with black pupils, a human's eyes

• Death - Contextually refers to the altered living state of a Qou after undergoing ascension

• Eyes closed - "No idea"

• Fresh from the jut's receptor -"Brand new/Cutting edge"

• Great gaze - "Good day"

• Have in sight - "Keep in mind/Remember"

• Heard from a veilk's whisper - "A little bird told me"

• How does Velzie's gaze behold you? - "How are you doing?"

• How beholds you? - Shortened form of "How does Velzie's gaze behold you?"

• Keep Velzie entertained, will you? - Requesting wishes for safe journey

• Kelnit - Insult, means "incompetent fighter"

• My shining parasites - "My lucky stars"

• No tendril left to rot - Possibly "No stone left unturned"

• Sludged - Dead/destroyed corru

• Through some giggle of Velzie - "By some twist of fate"

• Velzie instills a vision - A sudden epiphany(?)

• Velzie's fondness for repetition is truly nauseating - Said after misfortune befalls someone, especially if said misfortune mirrors a negative past experience they had

• Velzie's smile upon you - "God bless you"

• Velzie's wrath - "Swear to god"

• Would you hold conflict - "Would you mind"

Continents

• Ekiva - A continent on Obeski.
• Ekivik - A person from Ekiva.

• Vazni - A continent on Obeski.
• Vaznian - A person from Vazni.

Cities

• Zevazni - A central cave-city, said to be the origin of the corrucystic revolution, also where mindcores (and thus ascension) were invented.

• Akaniva - A cave-city in Ekiva, facing the coast of Vazni, home of Miltza.
• -Iva - Suffix indicating a cave-city located in Ekiva.

• Kozazni - A cave-city in Vazni, presumed home of Kazki.
• -Azni - Suffix indicating a cave-city located in Vazni.

• Oltazni - A cave-city in Vazni, home of Akizet and Cavik.

Buildings

• Okizika - Structurist holy site, located in Ekiva, monument on the dangerous surface.

Culture

Castes

• Castes - Groups which obesk are mainly born into, with the exception of Qou (see Kiv, Jut, Tir, Vel).

• Qou - A caste of obesk which have become one with corru, inhabit mindcores and construct bodies out of corru and typically are referred to as once-caste, with caste being a stand in of the caste which they were a part of in their larval form.

• Vel - A caste without much information as of writing, are vaguely implied to enjoy playing tricks (or possibly have to in order to live), typically have curled receptors.

• Tir - A caste that digs and/or hunts, typically have branched receptors.

• Kiv - A caste that acts as security for obesk, typically have long receptors.

• Jut - A caste that acts as engineer for obesk, said to "teach" corru in some way and typically have short receptors.

Religion

• Structurist - Old-fashioned worshipper of Velzie, prays with palms facing upwards and at face level.

Arts

• Vaznian Surrealism - A swirling and fantastical art style.

• Ekivik Geometric - An artistic style that is angular and minimalist.

Jobs

• Cavernguard - An obesk who guards caverns.

• Constructor - A Structurist who builds religious monuments.

Games

• Parasite - A boardgame with circular pieces on a grid, whoever has the most areas/pieces wins the game with corner pieces implied to have more value than others.

Tools

• Valika - A wide conical headwear, used as camouflage on the surface.

• Zenruka - A self-destructing device that acts as an alarm, exploding at a set time after a period of decay.

• Zzepel - A back-mounted utility used by surface runners, used to create small semispherical shells around the wearer, similar to a camping tent, popular for veilk-camping.

Corru-Related

• Corruskivi - A corru repair tool which can easily pass through corru, used by Tozik.

• Sfer/Sfer Cubes - Fuel and currency, is a fungus grown on/from essential metals.

Weapons

• Bright Weaponry - Any weapon made by humans and characterized as using "dead metal" as ammunition.

• Kavruka - Used to refer to either a bomb, or a bomb-like surface creature.

Machinery

• Glazika - A machine made of corru(?), seemingly used to tend to machinery.

Ecology

Predators

• Secri - Red microscopic apex predator parasites on Obeski, possibly fungal. Hijack bodies and change both physiology and psychology of the infected in order to spread.

• Guktik - A predator with bladed arms, said to taste well when paired with Zzoust.

Prey

• Celki - A spherical parasite which lives off of Veilk, with a strong resemblance to fruit, their seeds are said to scurry and are sought after by Obesk.

Unknown

• Cave Keeper - A striped arachnid native to Obeski, seen as cute by some Obesk (with said cuteness possibly being tied to strength/size).

• Veilk - Large animals which roam Obeski and are harvested for their bones (parii) and skin, harbor Celki in their tendrils/stalks.
