The Translation Core is an optional boss found in the Golem Maintenance section of Recollection: Collapse. A powerful mind once used to translate the many languages of Earth for the obesk, it is now translating the signal into something verbal. What exactly that something is is unknown, as it is apparently cognitohazardous, so much so that it had to be outright deleted from the cyst. It uses this information as a weapon against you in combat, managing to manifest reflections of the party's fears to attack the party.
Defeating the Translation Core grants access to Gakvu's Signal Inverter augment.

Strategy
It's time to brush up on your Spanish, because it's a good language to know. Our word of the day is "miedo", meaning fear. As it so happens, you will become very familiar with fear, as in the status effect. Unlike the less linguistically gifted summoner, the Translation Core cares much less about backup, mostly just preferring to chant at you until you die, with hallucinations appearing as a side effect. It summons hallucinations each time it lands a 30% critical hit with █████, which are already not great odds, made even worse by the fact that it spawns flanked by two Constructor golems that can and will apply vulnerable, making this a dice roll that will eventually come up tails. Not only do the hallucinations apply fear with great efficiency, to add insult to injury, the Translation Core itself applies weakened, lowering your own crit rate and making it difficult to remove the fear effect. The best party members for the fight should therefore have either a high crit rate, be capable of disposing of hallucinations quickly, or both. Cavik immediately jumps to mind, being able to act as both a healer and crowd damage dealer. However, a much better option lies in the IK Golem obtained by clearing the other two wings of Golem Maintainence. Karik has access to Dull Flare, which is not only a guaranteed hit on all enemies, but also deals enough damage to one-shot the hallucinations. There is a risk in this, as Dull Flare requires preparation, which increases your chance of being struck by a crit and inflicted with weakened.
As for supporting the IK Golem, Tozik and Cavik are likely the best options. The two jut both act as healers, with Cavik being able to heal the entire team more consistently as well as take on a more offensive role if the situation arises, while Tozik has either greater healing potential or the ability to apply other supportive effects with augments. As for Akizet, puncture is your best friend against any remotely high health enemy, and she's good at inflicting it. Outside of that, the Symbiotic Rifle augment allows her to deal powerful crowd control damage, though if you don't have it, the Surface Runner Claws can be acceptable in dealing damage directly to the boss. Keep your team healthy, blast through the illusions with the light of the dull, and eventually you'll translate this core directly into the floor.
