Shells are the remnants of a thoughtform that could not "conform" to a thoughtspace; they live in a sort of statis, where they are picked clean for their resources, but are still alive, a hollow shell of what they once were. Shells can be used in a variety of ways; for example the using it to navigate a thoughtspace, like how Interloper uses one to traverse the Recollection Locus.
