Golems are corru constructs that assist the Obesk with a variety of tasks, ranging from managerial to construction jobs. Golems can be equipped with an echo, which is suggested to be an artificial recreation of a previously or currently existing Obesk. They can be directly controlled by the groundsmind. Golems were constructed, transported, and maintained on the Golem Maintenance floor of the Embassy.
Vekoa used attendant golems to be able to be contacted by Obesk working in the Embassy. During the Collapse, most golems turned hostile after the broadcast of the signal and attacked Akizet and her team. While in Golem Maintenance, Karik and an unconscious Itzil were able to occupy the body of a golem and subsequently became the Ik Golem.
On the surface, during the events of the Collapse, the golems did not attack humans but were acting erratically. Eventually, they collectively searched for the nearest coast and disappeared into the ocean.[1]
