Corru is a living, metallic substance that is grown and shaped by obesk engineers through methods that are currently unclear.[1] Its exact composition is unknown, though its food sources are known to be "essential metals" (one of which being elemental copper[2]) and sfer.[3]

Corrucysts

Corru naturally grows into spheres called corrucysts, which form a hard outer layer of corrucystic glass[4] that parts for obesk receptors, allowing the corru within to be symbiotically taught how to function.[5]

Corrucystic hardware forms the backbone of Obesk technology; their development sparked a revolution that rapidly spread across Obeski,[6] and paved the way for the construction of the Okizika in Ekiva, new advances in medical technology,[7] spaceflight, and more.

Black corru

Black corru is a structural variant of corru that forms naturally in spires.[8] It is black in color with a purple sheen, and possesses far higher density and strength than normal corru.

Corroyi

Corroyi is an aqueous form of corru that occupies the space between cysts in major structures such as the Embassy.[9] It is oceanic in nature; containing currents that presumably contribute to the maintenance of the spire. During the Collapse, Movefriend commented that corroyi density was high in Golem Maintenance due to the cessation of all standard currents.[10]

Sludge

When corru loses its form or dies, it melts into violet sludge. While sludge can be upcycled or reformed into fresh corru,[11][12] it is unknown if such reformation is good for the long-term health of corru-based structures and creatures.
