Story
Recollection: Discovery & Suspicion
Cavik is first introduced in Recollection: Discovery, in which he is found in the Timestopper Room performing maintenance on archival cysts. When approached by Akizet, he says he lost track of time but is otherwise ready for the focus. The two briefly discuss Dullzkovik's closed loop theory, which postulates that the Call is a message from Obesk from the future who have reached Earth but were too late to discover humanity. Akizet does not fully believe this theory, and asks Cavik to not share it with any humans, to which he dejectedly agrees to. Afterwards, Cavik participates in the focus.
During Recollection: Suspicion, Akizet finds Cavik and Bozko waiting for Mokka in front of her room to depart on an expedition together. Both Bozko and Cavik deny sending the suspicious cyst to Akizet's room. When Cavik asks what was on the cyst, Akizet lies and says that it contained secri hunting habits. Although the two seem suspicious of Akizet, Funfriend assures her that they probably think she is lying for a different reason.
Golem Maintenance
During Akizet's call with Bozko, Bozko mentions that he is with Cavik. The two teams planned to meet in the Golem Maintenance floor. She does not call Cavik knowing that he is safe with Bozko.
When Akizet and her team enter Minor Operations, the ceiling above them trembles and eventually breaks, the impact crushing an archival golem. Cavik drops from the opening to reunite with the team, unaware of the crushed golem rising once more to strike at his mindcore. Akizet, viewing the events in slow-motion and believing Cavik will meet his final death, writes a heartfelt message about their time together and instructs Funfriend to try to send it before he perishes. Before the impact occurs, Bozko drops down and crushes the golem with his gauntlets. Realizing Cavik is alive, Akizet is relieved but embarrassed since the message still sent. The two later have an awkward conversation about the message, with Cavik confirming he received it and thanks her for her kind words.
Memory Hole
When inputting Cavik into the Memory Hole, it brings up a thought space that has Cavik's Collective signature, with the log deteriorating into incoherence towards the end, and its inherited context being replaced with sentiments of wanting to go home. When the Interloper interacts with it, a thought stream is located and initiated. The memory contains Cavik and Akizet after meeting with the bright cousins, in which she leads him down a hall with an urgency that frightens him. Cavik asks what is going on, and that she was scaring him. Akizet grips him by the shoulders, which causes him to freeze in terror, and she fearfully demands that he cannot tell anyone, even the Call Research team, no matter what. A desperately confused Cavik says that he has never seen her like this, and asks what is going on again.
The thought stream begins to deteriorate into incoherence, as the thoughtform of Cavik begins to shift appearance and repeats that "it hurts." The Cavik thoughtform reveals itself to be somewhat lucid, and tells the Interloper that it cannot wake up, but it feels them. It pleads for the Interloper to "end this" since "it's going to start again." The Cavik thoughtform continues to visually deteriorate before the stream ends and removes the Interloper from it.
If Cavik is at any time destabilized during a combat sequence in Golem Maintenance, he will repeat some of the lines from his Memory Hole, implying that iterations of Cavik throughout the cyst are all somewhat incoherent.
