Gakvu, also known as Gakvukani,[1] is a Vel Qou Obesk who worked in the Embassy in the Call Research Initiative alongside Akizet.
She previously worked on "The Okizika" on Obeski when she was larval.[2]
Recollection: Discovery & Suspicion
Gakvu is first introduced in Recollection: Discovery, in which she is in the Timestopper Room using a false environment to pass the time. Before the meeting, Akizet meets with Gakvu and begins to gently warn her about a complaint she received. Gakvu interrupts with lighthearted sarcasm, but gets the message that she should, at least, pretend to be busy while working so that she does not tarnish the Call Research Initiative's reputation. Afterwards, she participates in the focus and shares hers and Tozik's discovery.
During Recollection: Suspicion, Akizet finds her browsing false environments at a table in Recreation. When Akizet asks if she was the one who delivered the suspicious cyst, Gakvu's attention is fully drawn from her environments which startles Akizet. However, Gakvu denies sending the cyst and comments on its self-delivery being "very, very strange," since someone on the team could have just given it to Akizet. When asked about how she is doing, Gakvu cynically and disappointingly comments how her work is for nothing, but does not mind it since she can have more time for her environments.
Recollection: Collapse
Gakvu is with Akizet and Tozik during the beginning of this memory. While they are analyzing their recordings of the Call through the help of the Timestopper, a strange and painful signal interrupts their work. She suffers a minor injury on her leg. An aggressive attendant golem lurches for Gakvu, during which her fear and panic is felt through the Timestopper. Akizet protects her by utilizing the Timestopper's remote capabilities, and leads the team in defeating the golem. The trio seek shelter in Relocation. After inspecting a dying Movefriend, Tozik believes it can be fixed if they are able to find sufficient materials. Gakvu reveals she has a mindcore with illegal groundsmindry, and opens tunnels to Personnel and Recreation after Akizet and Tozik promise not to tell anyone. The trio rescue Miltza in Personnel and Itzil and Karik's mindcores in Recreation.
After Tozik completes his repairs, Movefriend activates for a moment but is then seized by the groundsmind. Akizet, Tozik, and Miltza weaken the aggressive Movefriend while Gakvu protects the mindcores and removes the groundsmind's connection to it. Gakvu is notably exhausted after the fight.
Once Movefriend is active again, Gakvu and the team conclude that they must seize the groundsmind, and traverse to Golem Maintenance to arm themselves.
