Isabel, also known as the flower,[1] is a thoughtform in the cyst. After the starvation of the cyst, she was forced by Funfriend to become part of a memory of Isabel, a human florist who developed a close relationship with Akizet. By using the Unity Mask, the Interloper frees her from the memory and she returns to her room in Jokzi Ozo.
Appearance
When first encountered in City Surface, Isabel took the form of a sunflower with a large human-like eye in its center. After being freed, she still retains this form as her head, but now has a human-like body wearing a long puffer jacket that is adorned with vine-like growths.
Personality
Isabel is warm and kind-hearted, serving as a bringer of joy and kind dreams. She holds a deep respect and love, bordering on infatuation, for Akizet, and has relentlessly mourned her absence, assuming she is no longer living due to the Interloper's connection. In her grief, she has collected and comforted the thoughtforms containing Akizet's joy. She takes on the appearance and name of Isabel to further protect the joyous memories Akizet had of them together, although she cannot say for sure how close their relationship truly was.
History
Before recovering the cyst
During the madness and starvation of the cyst, Isabel resided with the Council in their domain. She almost joined the Council's amalgam as a sacrifice, but ultimately could not commit due to her desire to preserve Akizet's joyous memories until the cyst perishes. At some point, Funfriend tore her and several others from Jokzi Ozo in its process of restoring the memories held within the cyst.
City Surface
Isabel is first encountered in the flower shop, which resides on the street past the coffee shop. The building she is in contains many different kinds of plants, and most notably, a large sunflower in front facing view. Interacting with the flower brings up a thought stream of Akizet's first time in a flower shop, enamored with the beauty of the sunflower. Akizet meets the florist that owns the shop, Isabel, which causes the sunflower to open a human-like eye and assume the speaking role of Isabel. Near the end of the thought stream, the sunflower thoughtform suddenly appears lucid despite its incoherence. At first, it believes it is talking to Akizet directly, but realizes that it is instead talking to an interloper. It asks the Interloper to help it find its home again, which requires the Unity Mask.
Jokzi Ozo
Once Isabel is returned to Jokzi Ozo, her room becomes available to enter, which appears as a door with a background containing sunflowers. It contains Isabel, a couple of her effigies, a beautiful landscape of a sunflower field, and various flowers. When approached, she thanks the Interloper for their help and promises to give them a joyous mask when she can make them. Additionally, she answers the questions the Interloper has about herself and Jokzi Ozo, and has a request regarding her effigies.
When the Interviewer Lady is sent to Jokzi Ozo, Isabel takes her in her care to ease her pain and begin the process of restoring any remaining memory she has.
Effigies
Isabel tended to several effigies, which were thoughtforms of Akizet before the cyst starved. She sacrificed parts of herself to repair them, and kept them safe in her room in Jokzi Ozo. When Funfriend tore Isabel from her room, the effigies were scattered across the cyst due to the thought space collapsing. Once Isabel is freed from the memory she was forced to become, she asks the Interloper to find her missing effigies and guide them home using the Unity Mask. She is able to sense if they are close to her, and will tell the Interloper how close they are to finding all of the missing effigies.
