it is an unoccupied thoughtspace, you see, ever since your entry...

The Outer Layer is the former location of the disassociated Authorization Layer. From EP1 onwards, it can be accessed through a hidden gate marked by low-opacity incoherence in the Hub.

Appearance

On the player's first visit, this area will appear as pink incoherence with Sentries scattered across it, appearing like eyes. Once the Authorisation Layer is disassociated, it will appear as white incoherence over a black background, at the centre of which will be a circular white gate for you leading to the Hub.

If subsequently visited, it will appear as stated above except with Proxyfriends floating around, unless God has not yet been negotiated with or killed, in which case it will be a fractal background over saturated, darkish pink, with unscannable bright pink eyes floating around. Regardless of state, the gate will be at the centre.

Initial Visit

On the player's initial visit, they will be greeted by the Authorisation Layer, which will do its job guarding the cyst while acting openly puzzled about its ability to talk. Velzie disassociates it and creates a gate for you which leads to the Hub.

Revisit

Revisiting this area will result in a highly incoherent space that Moth describes as "infested" with incoherent thoughtforms, to the point that they mention that they are "not even picking up any entities". Killing or negotiating with God will make the area significantly more stable, and the area will be populated by Proxyfriends created by Funfriend, which will mention if talked to that they are guarding the area from incoherent thoughtforms which may try to usurp the cyst.
