my readout is fucked, it looks like it's reading in multiple thoughtspaces
you're still rendering something?

The Beneath is a location accessed after unlocking the Golem Maintenance section of the Collapse, it can be accessed through a special gate in the second room of the Clemens Romanus. The area seems to be the bottom of the ocean, in line with the Clemens Romanus being a shipwreck.

Initial Visit

On your initial visit, Moth will ask if you're alright, saying that everything on their end is complete garbage, and asks if the Interloper is still rendering something. Moth talks about how rendering an area like this is, but makes a theory about why the Interloper can render this area at all, Moth then tells the Interloper to explore the area and see what they can find.

Walking across the area, there is an entity hunched over, looking like a Bright Cousin with a camera for a head. Interacting with it downloads an image onto your computer titled "EFFIGY", seemingly a map for the area.

Continuing to the next room, there is another entity, standing up straight with a camera for a head, similar to the previous one. Interacting downloads an image titled "abyss", which seems to be an image depicting the bottom of the ocean, with an eye near the top.

Going to the third room, it brings you to a city-like area, although it is underwater. Entering a nearby building, you are faced with what seems to be an extremely incoherent version of Kazki. Trying to talk to it shunts the Interloper out back onto the street before entering the building.

Moth suggests that the Interloper play along as Akizet to extract information from the thoughtform, which works. Asking about what they are in time for, it sends a thoughtstream to the Interloper about what happened earlier in the day; them going to a beach together and sightseeing jellyfish while talking. At the end of their conversation, the Interloper then asks Kazki a few questions.

Leaving the building, you can find the third gate.

Going back to the second room, you can find another room, going there is nothing but a maze with a S W AL KK there, complaining about a car problem, and an Effigy.

Gate 1 (Initial Visit)

Entering the incoherent gate in the first room brings you to Jokzi Ozo, seemingly an Obesk cave city, which is a room with two floating gates and a rainbow-coloured door. Going through the floating gate closest to where you came from brings you back outside Jokzi Ozo.

Entering through the door brings you outside, during a storm. The Council, seemingly an amalgamated form of Akizet, turns and looks at you.

Talking to the Council will have them asking the Interloper about who they are, who the Interloper responds with who they are, an interloper; saying this makes the Council happy, as though the Interloper was a being who was prophesied to explore the cyst.

The Council will make a deal with the Interloper, giving the Interloper "their powers" in exchange for the Interloper doing a "simple task" for them. Asking more, the task is to bring the Council's friends back to them, saying that the "tyrant" took them, and the Council offering their tools to the Interloper to help their friends.

The Council then gives the Interloper their "tools", a thoughtstream, the Interloper accepts the thoughtstream, and it plays. The thoughtstream gives them a new ability, the ability to use "Masks" to alter thoughtspaces, to bring the Council's friends back to them.

The Council then begs them to free their friends, the Flower, the Fairy, and the Lost One. Moth asks if the Interloper is feeling okay after the thoughtstream, and the Interloper responds saying that they're fine. Moth then scolds the Interloper, telling them not to accept random thoughtstreams from thoughtforms like the Council.

The Interloper can then ask questions about each of the Council's friends. The Council says that the Flower can be found in a "memory of warmth within cold metal", the Fairy in a "the void", and the Lost One somewhere where they do not know.

The Interloper then can ask various questions about the Council and Jokzi Ozo, as well as the cyst; the Council can also ask questions to the Interloper.

After the conversation ends, you can go back through the rainbow door, and through the gate, back to the Depths, as there isn't much to do here now.

After Rescuing the Flower

Returning to Jozki Ozo after rescuing Isabel will yield dialogue between the Council and the Interloper. The Interloper asks about Isabel, and the Council says that Isabel created the Effigies, "her little Akizets".

Another rainbow door will be open after rescuing her, entering it brings you to a sort of house amid a field of sunflowers. Two effigies (and two more, if you used the Unity ability on the effigies in the third gate) also stand inside with Isabel.

Isabel, in the form of a Bright Cousin wearing a jacket with the sunflower as their head, can be spoken to. Speaking to her, she thanks the Interloper for bringing her back here. She says that she will make a new mask for the Interloper, and that she can only currently offer information now.

Going back to the first available door, there is a new door in the hallway that leads back to the gate. Going through, you will enter a room floating in the sky. Walking over the sky, you can enter another room similar to the previous one with another door, entering that will bring you to a single room, with something unreachable at the other end.

After Rescuing the Fairy

Returning to Jozki Ozo after rescuing the Fairy, you will find it in the first room, before the door to the Council. Talking to the Fairy, it will notice that you have the Unity Mask already, and give you another, the Hunger Mask.

The Interloper then can ask it questions about itself, Jokzi Ozo, and the cyst.

Asking about the Fairy to the Council, it reveals that they can traverse dreams and take on new forms, which is quite rare for them, and that they appreciate favours, especially with the Interloper for saving them.

Gate 2

Entering the gate in the second room brings you to Our Dull Vessel but in a very warped and disorganized state, seemingly crashed in presumably the bottom of the ocean.

Heading down the climbing wall, you can enter a room split into two, there isn't much to do here.

Gate 2.5

Entering the other gate nearest to the city room, you will enter a small pathway, going along the path you can find a Calm Piece, a game piece of the game "Parasite". Greeting it, it will say that it is quiet.

Continuing down the path, you can enter another room, with two large Pieces on either side of a Parasite game board, the Smiling Piece and the Many-Eyed Piece, who represent Gakvu and Miltza respectively. On one side of the board is Cavik, Akizet, and an interactable effigy, on the other side are two Containers and a Golem. Using the Unity ability on the effigy results in the Smiling Piece complaining about it leaving the board mid-game, and the Many-Eyed Piece saying it counts as a death, with the smiling piece objects to.

Interacting with either piece will allow you to talk to them.

Continuing past them brings you to a giant Parasite game board which you can walk around in with many game pieces representing characters in the Call Research team or met in Recollection: Collapse.

Going past this room, it will bring you to another big room with 2 gates, entering the one you can see first, it will bring you to Jokzi Ozo, in Isabel's room. Entering the other one will bring you to Our Dull Vessel

Gate 3

Entering brings you to a version of the pier in Their City, but as usual, underwater. On the pier, there are two Effigies you can interact with. Using the Unity Mask, you can bring them to Jokzi Ozo.

Walking past the pier brings you back to the pier in Their City.
